  • If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling with emotional distress, therapy can be a helpful resource. Whether you're facing specific issues like anxiety, depression, or life transitions, or just looking to better understand yourself, therapy provides a supportive space to explore your thoughts and feelings.

  • The first step is to book a free 30-minute consultation with one of our therapy advisors. During this appointment, we will gather some information about you and your needs so we can match you with the best-suited therapist on our team. You will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Once you’ve been matched with a therapist, you will correspond with them directly to make appointments moving forward.

If you already know which therapist you want to work with, you can visit our team page to send them a message directly requesting an appointment.

  • Your first session is a wonderful opportunity to begin to get to know your therapist, discuss your concerns, and set goals for therapy. It’s a chance for both you and your therapist to determine if this connection is a good fit.

  • The length of therapy varies for each person. Some people may benefit from short-term therapy focused on specific goals, while others might prefer longer-term work for deeper exploration. You and your therapist will discuss a plan that feels right to you.

  • Most people attend weekly or bi-weekly sessions, but the frequency can be adjusted based on your preferences, needs, and goals.

  • We ask that you provide 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Late cancellations are subject to the full session fee.

  • Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. What you share in sessions stays between you and your therapist, with a few legal exceptions, such as concerns about harm to yourself or others. Your therapist will explain confidentiality in more detail during your first session.

  • Session fees vary depending on the therapist and the type of service provided but range from $140 for individuals to $195 for couples for a 50-minute session. We also offer lower rates with fees starting at $85 for sessions with our therapist interns.

Part of our mission is to make sure that therapy is accessible to as many people as possible. If these fees still create a barrier for you to get the help you need, please reach out to us.

  • After you pay for your session, you will receive a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. The majority of insurance companies cover the services of Registered Psychotherapists and/or Registered Social Workers. Please check with your insurance provider to confirm your coverage.

  • We accept payment by credit card and e-transfer.

  • Yes, we offer sliding scale fees and reduced rates. You can discuss your financial needs at your free consultation appointment or reach out to our client coordinator by phone (905-527-6337) or email (admin@everwellcounselling.ca) to discuss your needs.

  • All of the therapists on our team are either Registered Psychotherapists or Registered Social Workers. They are all licensed professionals in the province of Ontario with specialized training in various therapeutic modalities. They hold advanced degrees in counselling, psychology, or social work and engage in ongoing professional development.
