Registered Psychotherapist

It took me many years to understand what mental health really meant. Coming from a South Asian community, the concept of mental health was, and unfortunately still is, a stigma. While growing up as part of a minority, I struggled to understand my surroundings and process my emotions.

I now know how important it is to be aware of your thoughts and feelings, and that it is not easy to maintain such things. While I did not have the support and guidance of a therapist growing up, I hope to provide that for those going through their own struggles, and advocate and educate the importance of mental health.

Q & A with Sana

What do you want your potential clients to know about you and what it will be like working with you??

“ I'd like my clients to know that I make sure to put their needs first and create a comfortable environment. Working with me involves an open, two-way relationship where my clients are heard and are provided a safe space to be vulnerable. ”

What made you decide to choose your current profession?

“ Through life, I've come to learn that everyone is different and has a different worldview. This has made me even more curious about people and wanting to understand ourselves better. I enjoy working with others, building connections, and guiding them towards what they are looking for. My biggest motivator to choosing this profession was becoming a resource in the community that I did not have access to growing up. I hope to use my position to de-stigmatize the need for mental health services and promote mental well-being. ”

What do you like most about what you do?

“ I enjoy learning more about the field of mental health every day. Being able to create a space for people where they feel safe, understood, and motivated feels very special to me.”

What do you think are the biggest misconceptions about mental health?

"That seeking therapy equates to weakness or it’s for people who are ‘broken’.”

What do you value most in a client?

“Someone who is willing to show up for themselves and do the challenging and rewarding work involved in their personal growth and healing.”

Why should a potential client come to everwell?
